All About Randolph Aviation Pillot Sunglasses
     Made in the USA

Pilot Pete Supplies chose to offer Randolph for several reasons: They’re functional, rugged, durable, fashionable
and comfortable.

Such a high degree of quality that the Randolph  “ AVIATOR” sunglass is official issue to all U.S. Military Aviators and
NASA Astronauts.  In fact, over 4 million of these military pilot sunglasses have been issued since 1977!

Hollywood has also endorsed Randolph by using their sunglasses in over 18 movies. The “CONCORD” sunglass is
the model that made “TOP GUN” so famous!  Other Randolph pilot sunglasses have been use in Apocalypse Now,
Apollo 13, Men Of  Honor just to mention a few. (NOTE: Randolph has never paid a placement fee for inclusion of its
aviation sunglasses in any movie).

Randolph’s drive for superior quality makes its own solder flux, which is why their solder joints are so strong. Under
normal usage they are guaranteed for life!

Randolph Pilot Sunglass Lens Technology

Randolph offers three lens colors in glass: Neutral Grey,  AGX (grey/green) and high contrast Tan.

Neutral Grey – True target color 18.4% L.T.  – Every color retains its true value. Randolph Neutral Grey Lenses
offers absolute true color reception. Worn by U.S Military pilots and NASA astronauts; colors come through naturally
resulting in hours of comfort.  Light reaches the eye with the same color compositions that it originally has before
passing through the lens. (
Grey lens also available polarized but not recommended for cockpits). NOTE:. Polarized
Lenses are  not recommended for cockpits. The polarization sometimes filters out lights on cockpit instruments
blackening them, and CRTs, as well as causing a rainbow effect on the windscreen due to the window heat.))

AGX (grey/green)  - 17 %  L.T. - Known as the All American Grey.  This lens has a slight green tint to it, making it
the most popular sunglass tint on the market.  Selectively filters the colors of the spectrum so that their
transmittance curve closely resembles the sensitive curve of the eye. Thus colors are only slightly changed.
Evidence indicates that the eye’s focusing system is largely keyed to the green wavelengths of the spectrum.
Because green and grey lenses due not shift the color balance away from green they do not disturb the eye’s
focusing system. The result?  Vision stays sharp through lenses of these colors.

High Contrast Tan -  21.8% L.T. – Randolph Tan lenses, although lacking the neutrality of grey and green
lenses, are also widely accepted of those needing eye protection on bright overcast days.  This lens will cut off the
transmittance of easily scattered blue light, thus having the effect of increasing contrast and visual acuity.  This lens
will perform well in low light situations encountered in haze and fog.
